Books, Books, Books!!!

Hi
Came back home tonight with my head buzzing with ideas as a result of the mini workshop tonight.
Jemma talked through some of the ideas and techniques that she learnt on a workshop with Frances Pickering and we each had ago - creating images/patterns on paper with transfer paint and then transfering it to vilene ...... still need to iron to get some deeper colour and then make the pages to go inside .......really interesting idea and lots of potential and application to other areas.
Got to get on with the pieces for our upcoming exhibition as part of open studios in September!!!!!

Cheers
Carol

Meeting Decisions

Carol & Margaret & Shelagh have finished their pieces.  Janis & Jemma are well on the way.  Carolyn stitched I spy books !!!!  Sheila stitched a book cover, Anne  & Margaret could not attend.  Shelagh coloured a canvas (& her hands) with new spray stains
We decided that the next challenge theme for OPEN STUDIOS in September at Bee Inspired studio would be HERITAGE.  Shelagh will take a picture of her BOAT piece to be the publicity shot for the Open studios booklet.  Jemma will sort out the details & it will cost about £12.50 each.  Venue hire charges were not discussed.
Jemma will look into an exhibition space in a cafe in Northampton for late this year or early next year
Pieces will need mirror brackets attached.  Items are to be for sale & 15% commission is taken.  We have to make good the walls afterwards but the venue will supply the paint.  We need insurance

For HERITAGE - three pieces will be created - one is to be in one colour only or white or black.  Any size, shape & 2D or 3D

The June meeting will have to be moved the the first Thursday (the normal sit & sew Guild date) as the town is being closed off for the bike race. That is 3rd June - Bank holiday week

Next meeting is 13th May.

Please get your completed pieces to Shelagh BEFORE the regional day or I might not have room to display them on my stand.

Hi
I have at last made decisions about my initial piece of work; now I need to get on and do it.....very good at procrastination .............. now need to stitch!!!!!!!

I really like the idea of belonging to a group where we can share ideas, challenge each other ... but above all have fun and friendship and enjoy ourselves!
